Our Story
One of the things Alex and Leslie have always loved most about their friendship is their conversations. When people ask what they enjoy doing together the most, the answer is almost always the same: talking — or, as Leslie would say, “waxing philosophically.” Their conversations are not casual or surface-level. They are expansive, curious, emotional, and often weave through the metaphysical, the spiritual, and the practical all at once. Over time, they both began to realize that these weren’t just conversations between friends, but doorways into deeper understanding and growth.
Many of these conversations took place during major milestones in Alex’s life. After significant moments, Alex would call Leslie, and they would unpack it together — the emotions, the realizations, the insights stored in the body and the heart.
The conversation that truly planted the seed for their podcast happened after the first time Alex went on a date following their transition. The realization that dating — and even simply existing in the world — as a woman versus as a man is profoundly different opened up a powerful dialogue about identity, energy, safety, perception, and lived experience. When that conversation ended, they both had the same thought: We should have recorded this. And that moment is what ultimately sparked this podcast — a space where they now share those same deep, honest, and transformative conversations with the world.
